Alex Song: “My children try to emulate Messi”

The Qatar Foundation airs an exclusive interview with FC Barcelona’s Cameroonian player on Qatar’s National Sports Day

“Sports are important for youngsters and for people in general, it makes you feel better,” says Alex Song in an interview with the Qatar Foundation. The Cameroonian player believes sports are fundamental in a child’s development and he took the chance to encourage Barça fans to become more athletically active. 

Song, who is a father to two sons, says that “when my children see Leo Messi, they try to emulate him.” The player was chosen to encourage participation in sports among Qataris on Qatar’s National Sports Day.
